How's this for a few wise words spoken by Sigmund Freud to keep motivate to keep on pushing through?

“One day, in retrospect, the years of struggle will strike you as the most beautiful.”

Peninsula Tripping

After months of excited chatter, gear reviews and online purchase deliberation we were finally ready to set off. The purpose of this trial expedition was to iron out nerves and practicalities that lie ahead for our cycle adventure to Mozambique.

Setting off from Pinelands at noon, fully prepared for the road ahead, we tripped steadily to Muizenberg beach to partake in the festivities of the earth wave movement.

Earth Wave 2012 proved to be a festive event and was awesome to be apart of a world record breaking attempt. Many people showed interest in our over loaded bicycles and were only keen to hear our story. We were even offered to sail Doug's yacht back from Mozambique.

Our tented camp in front of an abandoned house at Millers point. The featured MSR Hubba tent  kept us warm and dry through a stormy night. Thank you Mark Johnston.
Gnarled wood lies on the rocks of Millers point. Perhaps a bit of foreshadowing.

Time of the day to relax and enjoy life with a cup of tea watching the skies do a dance of colour.
